Messy Play Based Therapy is a bottom-up approach, which is applied individually or in groups, with absolute respect for each individual personality. It is a therapy that fully utilizes the therapeutic powers of play through of the activation of the senses" (Siobhán Prendiville(2017)) and can be used by any therapeutic approach, adapted to the respective goals.

Through this training the participants:

> will receive all the necessary supplies to begin incorporating sensory play into their sessions, carefully designing the sensory experiences their clients need.

Some of the issues to be considered:

> What sensory play offers to the child's development. Because it is necessary, both as a treatment and as a prevention. How it can be utilized in Early Intervention.

> Types of sensory play. Materials, tools, recipes and toys. Directional and non-directional play.

> Therapeutic relationship. The attitude of the adult next to the child. How to create a climate of safety, trust and joy (basic conditions for learning and development).

> Establishing good communication. How we use sportscasting and active listening in sessions to support children's innate capacity for self-regulation, learning, creativity and development.

> Sensory play updated for trauma, attachment and sensory sensitivities.

>Sensory play in occupational therapy, speech therapy, special education, play therapy, psychotherapy.

>How do we support children with developmental difficulties such as ASD, ADHD, prematurity, sensory integration disorders, cerebral palsy, selective feeding, learning disabilities, speech & communication difficulties, cognitive/emotional/behavioural/social difficulties, attachment problems, low self-esteem.

Naturally! Our seminar will be EXPERIENTIAL in a unique Inclusive Playground!

We will get to know a wide range of materials, tools and the most useful recipes, we will get close to the child that is always inside us again for a while! We will experience new ways of touching, connecting and communicating, exploring our own sensory particularities and our personal attitudes and boundaries around the dirt and mess that play can create. This way we will more easily become more suitable people next to the children we serve, with greater empathy towards their needs and peculiarities.
