The two-day seminar will introduce the core concepts of the FOCUS for Meal Success program intervention.
In the evaluation part:
The FOCUS clinical thought process that guides the application of assessment information in feeding and mealtime intervention for children with sensory processing challenges will be presented. Intervention and clinical considerations for addressing various patterns of oral motor and sensory processing dysfunction that affect feeding, eating, and mealtime skills will be discussed.
The 6-phase FOCUS intervention model will be described and key decision points presented.
For the intervention part:
Intervention strategies will be provided for each phase of the model. The role of a multidisciplinary team in addressing these difficulties will be discussed.
By the end of the seminar, participants will be able to:
– Εφαρμόσουν ένα πλαίσιο κλινικής σκέψης για στοματοκινητική παρέμβαση.
– Αναγνωρίσουν τις έξι φάσεις παρέμβασης του μοντέλου FOCUS.
– Περιγράψουν πώς το πρόγραμμα FOCUS ικανοποιεί τις αισθητηριακές και κινητικές ανάγκες, καθώς και τις ανάγκες σίτισης και γευμάτων του κάθε ατόμου.
