Toby Long
PhD, PT, FAPTA
Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Georgetown University and Director of Professional Development atCenter for Child and Human Development. He is a faculty member of the GU Minors in Education, Inquiry and Justice and Disability Studies.
Dr. Long received her bachelor's degree in physical therapy from Boston University, her master's degree in early childhood special education from George Washington University, and her doctorate in human development from the University of Maryland. He is on the editorial boards of Physical and Occupational Therapy in Pediatrics and Infants and Toddlers. He is the author of more than 60 peer-reviewed publications including The Handbook of Pediatric Physical Therapy, Third Edition. Dr. Long is the recipient of a variety of prestigious awards, including the Lucy Blair Service Award from the American Physical Therapy Association, the Jeanne Fisher Distinguished Mentoring Award from the American Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapists, and the Bud Dehaven Award from the American Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapists. She was named a Catherine Worthingham Fellow by the American Physical Therapy Association.
In addition, Dr. Long works with colleagues to serve infants and toddlers with disabilities and delays using modern, evidence-based practices throughout Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Gulf region and Asia.

>Describes the purpose and process of collecting Developmental information on young children using weighted, unweighted assessment tools. The purpose, benefits and uses of these tools will be discussed. Tools used to gather information in all five developmental domains will be presented with an emphasis on gross, fine, and sensorimotor skills.

>Assessment is the gathering of information about a child and his family to make decisions about providing early intervention services. Unlike conventional (traditional) testing, authentic assessment captures behavior in real-life situations and routines. Authentic assessment has the flexibility to adapt to the functional limitations of children with various disabilities. It allows children to show what they can really do in any way possible, not just in the way determined by the test. It will discuss the benefits of using authentic assessment with young children with disabilities, the advantages of authentic assessment compared to developmental skills checklists, and introduce a variety of authentic assessment assessment tools.

EAW3: Authentic Evaluation
Η αξιολόγηση είναι η συλλογή πληροφοριών για ένα παιδί και την οικογένεια του για τη λήψη αποφάσεων παροχής υπηρεσιών πρώιμης παρέμβασης. Σε αντίθεση με τις συμβατικές (παραδοσιακές) δοκιμές, η αυθεντική αξιολόγηση καταγράφει τη συμπεριφορά σε πραγματικές συνθήκες και ρουτίνες. Η αυθεντική αξιολόγηση έχει την ευελιξία να προσαρμόζεται στους λειτουργικούς περιορισμούς παιδιών με διάφορες αναπηρίες. Επιτρέπει στα παιδιά να δείξουν τι μπορούν πραγματικά να κάνουν με οποιονδήποτε δυνατό τρόπο, όχι μόνο με τον τρόπο που καθορίζεται από το τεστ. Θα συζητηθούν τα οφέλη της χρήσης της αυθεντικής αξιολόγησης με μικρά παιδιά με αναπηρίες, τα πλεονεκτήματα της αυθεντικής αξιολόγησης σε σύγκριση με τις λίστες ελέγχου αναπτυξιακών δεξιοτήτων και θα παρουσιάσει μια λεπτομερή έξηγηση για την διεξαγωγή του ΜΕΙSR.
